  May 30, 1938: The serial Joyce Jordan, Girl Intern aired  for the first time aired on CBS radio. In 1948  Joyce Jordan, MD  program was evolved into " The Brighther Day " which broadcast for 8 years on the radio , before being shown simultaneously on TV from 1954-1956.

  May 26, 1940: An educational program, Invitation to Learning , was first heard on CBS. It ran for 24 years. "Invitation to Learning" was a 30-minute radio show where a panel of three to four people evaluates a particular book and its author. Although it was really not popular among many radio listeners, the Invitation to Learning radio show lasted for 24 long years, until 1964, presenting over 1,200 episodes during its run.

May 23, 1922: On this day two debaters argued about Daylight Saving Time with audience act as jury. This debate was the first radio broadcast debate airing from WJH radio station in Washington DC. President Warren G. Harding ordered to change the work shift of Federal employees. As Harding's order, working time start at 8 a.m. He gave exception for private employers, they could do as they pleased. Daylight saving time then became a hot issue. There were pro and contra about Daylight saving time at that time, not only in U.S. but also in several countries in the world.

  May 22, 1955: Jack Benny put off his 23 years run network radio transmission however, the show repeatedly remained on air for more than a few years. Born, Benjamin Kubelsky,  Jack Benny  became one of the most famous radio and television personalities due to his charm and wit. He also played the violin and claimed he never aged a year after 39.
