October 16, 1945: His Honor the Barber airs on NBC for the 1st time

  October 16, 1945: Barry Fitzgerald appeared in the leading role of Judge Barnard Fitz in His Honor, the Barber ,which aired for the first time on NBC. Barry Fitzgerald refused all other radio shows until this one cropped up. It featured Judge Fitz and some of his comedic cases. The show only lasted one season, but it did go on to become a Broadway play.

September 20, 1953: Jimmy Stewart debuts in 'The Six Shooter'

September 20, 1953: Jimmy Stewart was starred as Britt Ponset on the Western in his first appearance in an NBC program radio western ‘ The Six Shooter ’. The well-known parts of the show were when Stewart would whisper during high drama scenes. Only 39 episodes aired on this show, lasting only one season. The classic radio western ended well, with Stewart's character proposing marriage.

July 12, 1946: The Adventure of Sam Spade airs on ABC

July 12, 1946: ABC aired the Adventures of Sam Spade for the first time. In this  summer replacement series , Howard Duff starred as the radio detective from San Francisco. In 1930,  Sam Spade   appeared first time for the Dashiel Hammett novel ‘The Maltese Falcon’ and original film version of ‘The Maltese Falcon’ was featuring by Ricardo Cortez in 1931.
