June 3, 1946: The Casebook of Gregory Hood was the summer replacement series for radio broadcasts of Sherlock Holmes. The mystery series debuted on Mutual Radio and became a regular weekly program in the fall of 1946.
Casebook of Gregory Hood was first starring by Gale Gordon and then it was starring by Elliot Lewis. In this show, the sponsor was 'Petri Wine', the announcer was 'Harry Bartel', and the writers were 'Dennis Green' & 'Anthony Boucher'. "This famous detective radio show was closed in May of 1947.
