July 1, 1934: As per Communications Act of 1934, The Federal Communications Commission abolished broadcasting regulations of Federal Radio Commission.
The expressed applications of the Act are regulatory interstate and foreign commerce in communication by wire and radio to make obtainable, so far as possible, to all the people of the United States a swift, effective, nationally, and global wire and radio communication service with sufficient features at affordable costs, for the national defense, and for safe-guarding a more effective execution of this policy by centralizing recognition theretofore provided by law to several agencies and by allowing supplemental authority regarding interstate and foreign commerce in wire and radio communication, there is hereby made a commission to be recognized as the 'Federal Communications Commission', which should be constituted as hereinafter given, and which should perform and implement the provisions of this Act.
